Jones is hitting .417 with a .466 OBP and a .689 SLG thus far this season. He had great years in 2006 and 2007 but this is taking it to the next level, eh kids? And just to think as recently as 2004 he was looking like his best days were behind him (he hit .248 that year although he still smacked 30 homers.)
Now I don't think there's a chance in hell he'll finish the season above .400, it is only May 3 after all, and his previous career high was actually last season's .337 but you have to have someone flirting with .400 early in the year. It's part of baseball tradition, innit?
